FAIR WEATHER! Thurston County Fair is July 30-August 3 (Wed.-Sat. 10am-10pm, Sun. 10am-8pm), with dollar-off "wooden nickels" available at Les Schwab Tire Centers! Wednesday, July 30 admission is $1 for all ages with a non-perishable donation to Thurston County Food Bank (one can per person). Mixx 96.1 Kids' Day is Thursday, July 31, with games and the Les Schwab speed-pitch machine. Kids 14 and under get in for $2! Saturday, August 2 at 5pm, Les Schwab and Mixx 96.1 urge you to support 4-H and FFA youth at the animal market sale. Every day, check out the horses and other prize-winning animals, the quilts and country-living demos and displays, the live entertainment on several stages, the carnival rides (all-day armbands are $16 before the fair, $21 during the fair), and all that county fair food and atmosphere! HERE SOON! The "Here Today" Public Art Project celebrates a sense of place through local artists and the arts. During the month of August, eight public art projects will come and go in downtown Olympia. All the exhibition dates vary, and some of the projects involve components that move, so the element of surprise and discovery is part of the fun! Pet Parade is free and draws more than 1,000 kids and pets - everything from dogs and cats to gerbils and llamas.
