TPPI Celebration at Traditions Cafe in Olympia, Thursday, August 9th at 7:00 PM
The Thurston Public Power Initiative (TPPI) is hosting an event at Traditions Cafe & World Folk Art in Olympia (300 - 5th Ave. SW) on Thursday, August 9th, from 7-9:00 PM. All are welcome and there is no cover charge.
Come and join the campaign to authorize Public Utility District#1 to explore electrification and enjoy a festive dessert potluck with music from Olympia's own Citizen's Band. You can get information regarding what this Initiative really means and the electoral campaign before us; learn how you can help Thurston County residents win in November; Donations will be accepted to fund the campaign.
Over 15,000 voters in Thurston County helped achieve this initial victory by signing a petition to get on the ballot. It's time to celebrate this successful, totally volunteer, grassroots effort. The Initiative 'crew' is hosting a community party for those who support this local campaign, and those who want to know more about it. Bring a neighbor, a festive dessert, listen and sing along with The Citizen's Band.
The Thurston Public Power Initiative (TPPI) is a non-profit corporation registered in Washington State. TPPI is a grassroots group of citizen activists committed to granting authority to the Thurston County Public Utility District (PUD#1) to explore electrification. We believe the residents of Thurston County may be better served by a public utility instead of the private company that now provides electricity.
TPPI encourages citizens to vote YES on November 6th to authorize the Commissioners of PUD#1 to conduct a detailed feasibility study in order to determine if electrification of the PUD is in the future interest of Thurston County residents. For further information you can visit us online at our Facebook page or on the world wide web at http://ThurstonPublicPower.org.
