Olympia Master Builders Tour of Homes: If you’re thinking of building or remodeling your home, take a self-guided tour of 13 homes, 11 new and two remodels, that feature unbelievable value, the latest innovations, and the best prices the area has to offer. The Olympia Master Builders Tour of Homes runs Saturdays and Sundays 11am-5pm Saturday, August 18th to Sunday, August 26th at homes in Lacey, Olympia, Tumwater, and Yelm. OMB TOUR OF HOMES^TM

Olympia Master Builders 2012 Tour of Homes^TM features 13 homes and will run August 25-26 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. The perfect opportunity to see all the latest and greatest innovations in new home construction and remodeling, the tour is self-guided and admission is free. Tour visitors can also register to win one of five $100 gift cards from some of Olympia’s finest restaurants.

Of the 13 homes featured in this year’s Tour, 11 are new construction, and 2 are remodels. The Tour will include homes in Lacey, Olympia, Tumwater and Yelm. Participants will include:

A special Tour of Homes^TMinsert will be available in the Thursday, August 16 issue of The Olympian, and at all Olympia Federal Savings branches. The Tour guide will include details about each builder and home, and driving directions. Currently, sneak-peeks of all the homes are available on the Olympia Master Builders website (www.omb.org). Full details about each of the homes will also be available online after August 16.

Three impartial Tour of Homes™ Judges will visit all homes on opening day and determine winners for each of the following categories: Best Curb Appeal, Best Kitchen, Best Master Bath, Best Overall Floorplan, Best Built Green^® Features, Best Remodel, and Best of Show.

A visit to the Tour homes located in Yelm is also the perfect opportunity to switch your light bulbs! During the opening weekend of the event, Puget Sound Energy is hosting their “Rock the Bulb^TM: The Re-Energize Tour 2012” at Sunbird Shopping Center in Yelm, August 18 & 19 from 10 AM to 4 PM. Here, customers can exchange up to 15 old inefficient incandescent bulbs for the same number of compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs, choosing from among five different styles.
