Team up with the Little Red Schoolhouse Project and Mixx 96.1 to send students in our community back to school with pride
. Mixx 96.1 will be broadcasting LIVE collecting school supplies, coats, new socks and underwear, and cash to purchase supplies and clothes in bulk. Come by Mixx 96.1 at the corner of State and Washington streets anytime 6am-6pm Friday, August 11, 2017!

Imagine having to choose between buying food and clothes or crayons, pens, scissors, paper, and a notebook for your school-age child! Each year, many parents look at the brightly colored "Back to School" banners with dread as they face exactly these choices. The average cost of school supplies per child has grown to almost $75 per child. Add a backpack, socks and underwear, and a new coat or jacket, and the cost is now beyond many parents who are already struggling to pay for rent, gas, and medical check-ups!

The Little Red Schoolhouse Project ( was founded in response to this need. Our goal is to see every child start school with basic school supplies, a backpack, and new socks and underwear. LRS will not be accepting other clothing donations this year!

How can I help? Pick up extra coats, socks, and underwear or school supplies (such as backpacks, lined paper, 3-ring binders, rulers, crayons, child-size scissors, pencils, and backpacks) when you're shopping with your kids - or donate cash to buy new backpacks.

Mixx 96.1 Back-to-School Drive! Please donate backpacks, coats, socks and underwear, school supplies, and cash Friday, August 11, 2017. Mixx 96.1 will be taking your donations from our live broadcast site on the corner of State and Washington in downtown Olympia 6am to 6pm!

Cash counts! Heritage Bank will match the first $2500 donated! Donate cash & see your donation double! Olympia Orthopaedics & Zeigler's Welding will also match further donations. Plus, cash donations help buy supplies in bulk!
