Freeway Hero Jack Archer
6-9am

J
ack Archer, the morning Mixx 96.1 Freeway Hero, provides free roadside assistance and traffic reports for South Sound motorists. "In my first full day on the job, I witnessed a suicide on the Narrows Bridge, a serious injury involving a young girl and a truck, and an elderly man having a heart attack … I thought, my gosh, this is a stressful job! Fortunately, not all days are quite so traumatic," says Jack. Jack grew up in Seattle and for six years spent summers in Kenya, East Africa as his father, a U of W anthropology professor, did research. He is a graduate of the U with a degree in Political Science, and he and his wife Suzie, a dentist, now live with their daughter Kate on a beautiful waterfront home that they completely remodeled by themselves. In his leisure time, Jack restores automobiles and enjoys reading, hiking, boating, weightlifting, and sports, particularly golf.
